Stephen Covey’s Habits toward Effective Leadership

A specialty health-care recruiting executive, Aaron Koniak takes a particular interest in pharmaceutical and medical device sales. Additionally, Aaron Koniak has completed leadership training courses such as those offered by the late Stephen Covey. The author of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Covey was a thought leader in the area of corporate management and leadership best practices.

At the core of Stephen Covey’s philosophy was the idea that institutions that improve on what exists should be created. Integral to this was the idea of self-transformation through putting in practice habits such as being proactive. This essentially means exerting control of one’s environment rather than letting outside forces control one.

A second habit involves starting any project with the “end in mind.” Through focusing on activities relevant to a specific goal, distractions can be eliminated and productivity increased. As a corollary to this, Covey postulates that habits of personal management should be put in place that create a proper, step-by-step order for working toward specific goals.
